My name is Brandon. I'm a writer, cartoonist, husband, and father. This is the online space where I talk about life, family, art, videogames, and anything else that interests me. Disclaimer: a lot of things interest me.

14 Months Old

You’re a mess, but I love it. You’ve cracked crawling completely now, and you’re into everything. I know it’s only a matter of time before you transition to walking. I see your frustration when your cousin takes a toy you want and walks away. You can’t exactly chase him down to get it back, and you know it. Sometimes when you’re sitting together you’ll take something from him and try and crawl away, but your mode of transportation is inferior to his. He just stands up, walk over to you, and takes back whatever you’ve taken and walks away.

You’re not sleeping as well as you used to, but it’s possibly due to the fact that you seem to be sprouting teeth like daisies. You’re cutting six all at the same time: all four of your lateral incisors and two molars. Doing everything at once seems to be your M.O., and I’m starting to worry less about your development. You seem content to sit back and observe for long periods of time and then just DOING it. You seem interested in–yet unconcerned by–the world around you. I hope it’s a trait that sticks with you. You should always move at your own pace, in your own time, no matter what anyone says. Even me. I love you, little monster.
